Celebration of “Astronomy Festival” at Guwahati Planetarium
Guwahati, 12th May : Guwahati Planetarium, under the State Science and Technology Department, is going to celebrate the “Astronomy Festival” from 14th of May to 19th of May, 2026, in collaboration with the Astronomical Society of India (ASI), the biggest astronomical body of the Country. During the Festival, several prominent scientists and astronomers from the leading scientific organizations of the Country, such as the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), etc, will join the Planetarium during different Hands-on-Training Workshops for Teachers and Students, along with Popular Lecture-cum-Interaction Programs for general public, especially for students. The Festival will offer its participants, free access to the Planetarium Shows, Astronomy Gallery and Telescopic Sky Observations. The objective of the “Astronomy Festival” is to educate, popularize, engage and inspire the people in general, and students and children of the region in particular, towards the Astronomy and Space Science.
